COLD and FLU Season

 

COLD AND FLU SEASON IS COMING

 

FLU SHOTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH YOUR MEDICAL PROVIDER

 

If your child is sent home from school with a sore throat, cough, and high fever —

Could it be the Flu?   Or is it just a common cold?

 

Typically, the flu has symptoms that make a child feel worse than symptoms of a common cold.

sudden?

slow?

Does your child have a …

high fever?

no (or mild) fever?

Is your child's tiredness level …

severe?

mild?

Is your child's head …

achy?

headache-free?

Is your child's appetite …

decreased?

normal?

Are your child's muscles …

achy?

fine?

Does your child have …

chills?

no chills?

  • If most of your answers are yes into the first category, chances are that your child has the Flu.

 

  • If most of your answers are yes in the second category, it's most likely a Cold.

 

See your child's doctor if needed and please keep your child home from school until they are feeling better. Children should be fever free for 24 hours without the use of anti-fever medications such as Tylenol or Motrin/Advil.
