In this investigation, students examined the structure of DNA by building their own model. First, students needed to inventory all necessary parts. Then, they constructed the backbone of deoxyribose and nitrogen bases and attached the bases to the bonds in any sequence desired. Next, students repeated the steps to construct both sides and used the hydrogen bonds to attach both sides. Finally, students attached the structure to the stand and twisted gently to form a double helix spiral.

2015-2016 Anti Bullying Bill of Rights Act Grades

As per the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (ABR) (P.L.2010, c.122), the Belleville Public Schools has posted its 2015-2016 Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act Grades to the school district's HIB webpage, and to each individual school's webpage. Please feel free to contact Ms. Nicole Facchinei, Anti-Bullying Coordinator (nicole.facchinei@belleville.k12.nj.us) if you have any questions.

Click here to view the 2015-2016 ABR Grades

Under the Commissioner's Program, the school grade is a raw score of data and the sum of all the ratings for all indicators within each core element on the School Self-Assessment (e.g., 65 of 78 points). The maximum total score for a school is 78 points. The school district's grade is an average of the total scores of all schools in the school district. The department issued grade is not represented as a letter grade. The NJ Department of Education is not issuing any associated value or ranking for the raw and average scores. The raw and average scores reflect the school and school district's degree of compliance with the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (ABR), as determined primarily through each school's self-assessment of its implementation of the ABR.
